3-300 Advanced Rifle

Description

This course requires previous training. If you have not trained with NSR and would like to attend this class you will need list prior training or competition experiences from a reputable source. Students will be expected to be competent in safe handling and manipulation of their firearms.

An adaptive approach to Defensive Marksmanship at variable distances. This course is built around a average home defense rifle and utilization of the NSR tank trap barricade. This class will aslo include roof top engagements out to 300. Through the use of sound tactics and simple problem solving, students will learn how to quickly and effectively engage targets at multiple common distances ranging from 3 yards to 300 yards. Students will be expected to maintain safety, accuracy, and proficiency.

A reliable functional, serviceable and zeroed defensive carbine and pistol is required for this course. The use of a red dot with Magnifier or LPVO is suggested for this course. Some topics discussed in this class will not be possible with iron sights for some shooters. Due to subject matter and location, students must be proficient at loading, unloading, clearing malfunctions and deploying their equipment. NO steel core or sub sonic ammunition. Barrel length minimum 10.3 inches.

Gear requirements: 

  • Plenty of water for drinking and bag lunch/snacks

  • Electronic ear pro

  • Eye pro

  • Closed toe shoes and range/weather appropriate attire, (we shoot in all weather)

  • Knee pads (you will be kneeling and going prone on rocks and dirt)  

  • Zeroed reliable modern semi automatic rifle and pistol of your choosing 

  • Hard shell outside the waist band holster with adequate belt

  • Sling for said rifle

  • Lube for said rifle and pistol 

  • Multi tool of some kind for adjustments to equipment

  • 3 magazines for each with way to carry 2 rifle and 2 pistol on body

  • Plenty of extra batteries

  • Way to carry loose ammo for reloads on the line when class requires  

  • Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK)

  • Round Count: 450 rifle, 150 pistol

Class Duration: 2 days, 6-8 hours each day

-Students must be able to legally purchase a firearm to attend class. Students must also provide a valid drivers license, state ID, or Military ID before attending class.
